§ 58-100. Enforcement.

  • (a)

    No building permit shall be issued until an official house number has been assigned for the lot.

    (b)

    Owners or occupants of buildings constructed prior to March 28, 1994, that do not comply with this article will be notified and requested to meet requirements within 60 days from the date of notification. A warning notice will be issued after 60 days if the requirements have not been met. The owner or occupant who does not voluntarily comply within 30 days after the delivery of a warning notice by registered or certified mail shall be subject to criminal prosecution.

    (c)

    Any person violating a provision of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished as provided in section 1-11; and such violation of this article may also be enforced by seeking an order to compel compliance or civil remedies against the violator. Prosecutions for violation of this article shall be upon citation as provided in O.C.G.A. § 15-10-63.

    (d)

    The address program administrator is authorized to issue citations for the enforcement of the provisions of this article in accordance with the provisions of O.C.G.A. § 15-10-63.
